National Teaching Award Nominee
Ronnie Frazier
Ridgeland Elementary School, Ridgeland, South Carolina
Student Nomination Story
My son Colton is not the easiest child to handle. He’s not a bully or mean he just has special needs. He has spent the past 3 years of school crying every morning and all day to where most teachers put him in ISS or called me! He has SPD, ADHD, and a slight learning disability. Mr. Frazier is the first teacher to treat Colton as an equal, help him want to learn, encouraging him everyday no matter the struggle to overcome it!! Colton now has confidence to want to do most homework on his own! He no longer cries and actually loves going to school!!! Me. Frazier works 2 jobs, teaching and at Sams Club yet he never asks the parents for help with supplies!! He treats the children like his own! My son even asks to buy supplies for the class and gifts for him on a regular basis! He is someone the other teachers can learn from as he has what it takes to insert a drive in these children to want to learn!!! If any teacher has ever deserved to be honored it’s him!!!
