Student Nomination Story

I think many people do not look at a teacher as a mother and teacher. However, this is exactly what I do. My teacher is also my mother. She and I have lived through some things these last few years from being at an amazing private school that closed its doors to switching to a public charter virtual school unexpectedly. Ms. Rose has done all she can to make sure her students are learning and pushing them to be productive. She gets students moving by being the DECA chapter advisor for our school and she is the reason why I became a state officer. Ms. Rose got sick this year with Thyroid cancer and lost her voice for a few months during the pandemic. However, she pushed through making sure her students got tested for the credentials. I am grateful for Ms. Rose not only because she is my mom but also because she is my mentor and teacher who provides a diverse education during these unprecedented times.
