Student Nomination Story

A lot of students, as well as myself, have a hard time pronouncing his last name so to us it is just, 'Mr. M'. It is one thing that I respect about him simply because it kind of deteriorates the formal relationship that teachers and students have and makes it into a more friendly one. Mr. M is a wonderful teacher and an even better friend, even if I do constantly bug him during his lunch time. It's the jokes and conversations that make him a friend and the 'motivation' he instills that makes him a teacher.

Mr. M has helped changed my life in a way only he could. Before I met him/had his class, I essentially thought it would just be another history class that I needed to pass. He helped change that. Through many jokes and serious chats, he helped enlighten me and most of my classmates about the state of the world we live in, how history has a had a major impact on what we do and how we live, why things are the way they are. Some of my biggest challenges were that I didn't have the motivation to properly apply myself to my classes and that I was sort of shy when it came to classroom interaction, but being in his class made me come out of my shell in a way. For example, if granted the opportunity, I'm not afraid to speak up on a current event I feel should be discussed or related back to a topic in class. My teacher is special because he's always pushing us (in the best way possible) to be the best we can be and expressing to us that he believes in us or that he's proud of us. It seems like there's almost never a time where anyone can say anything bad about his class because we all enjoy it so much. As far as helping me reach my goals, he'll recommend certain things to me and offer advice and support for whatever I end up doing. Also, we happen to run into each other around town and sometimes I'll be with my mother and they always stop and chat to have this mini parent-teacher conference. One day he told my mom and I that I was brilliant, my mom was proud of me (and still mentions it, bragging to the family) and I felt particularly happy with myself for a long time after that. I'm grateful to my teacher because he's open minded and puts himself into his teaching. You can tell he likes what he does. As far as my goals changing, he's inspired me to think harder about them and really try and push myself toward them.

Mr. M has impacted my life in many ways. He has helped me through times of educational and life struggles. He is more than a teacher, he has grown to be family and a friend. Mr. M is a very good teacher and deserves a lot more than he is offered. Mr. M is good at what he does and can make the world better as we know it.

My teacher has helped me greatly when it comes to school. When I started his class, I was a child who didn't care about her educational path and procrastinated every second I had. I never did my homework and I wanted to do what I wanted to do. This had all changed when my teacher sat me down and told me that he knew I had the ability to more than what I was showing. He helped me find a path that was better for me and now I am passing all of my classes and turning in all of my assignments in on time. Mr. Mogilevsky has made me enjoy coming to school everyday and want to make my life better.

My teacher (Mr. M) has changed my life in a couple of different ways. When we put together the Student Government Association, he made me feel like a leader. He let the students state their opinion on what they wanted to happen in that school year with the SGA. Given this experience as president of the SGA, I have become more confident in myself as well as more confident with interacting with people. This is all because of Mr. Mogilevsky, and I can't thank him enough. He always puts his students first and that should be every teacher's first priority.

My teacher listens and he gives me an honest answer whenever I have questions or problems regarding my studies. He is also funny and is a great person to talk to. He teaches with great care and helps his students understand the necessary needs to provide for his students.

Mr. Mogilevsky has taught me that about the three branches of government, how the vice president would take the president's spot if the president got sick or died and then they would have a reelection for vice president.

Mr. Mogilevsky has changed my life a lot, the reason why I say this is because he has taught me a lot when I was in his World History and now this year I am in his Civics and Economics class. I always had trouble understanding and trying to focus on the power points but when he teaches me he does it in a fun and enjoyable way. One moment that I can remember is the time I took my NC final exam for World History last year and I thought in my head that I would never be able to pass this test, but then my teacher has said to me, "You can do it, I know you can," and when he said that it made me feel motivated. It made me feel that I can do anything if I can put my mind to it. When I got my test back, I found out I passed.

He has encouraged me to do more. He has encouraged me to participate in more things, so my academic skills will improve, and I can move further and go beyond the stars.

My teacher has changed my life by just pushing me to do better because he believed in me. Whenever I felt down he was there to pick me back up and he always has a bad day folder. That folder helps because it has quotes in the inside of it that will make you smile and give you the push that you need to feel better. He showed me that I could do better and that I could get more involved in my environment and to get accepted into programs.

He is a great teacher. Mr. M makes learning fun. I always enjoy coming to his class. He makes things easy to understand and will always help and if you ask. He is a great teacher to talk to and joke with in educational ways.
