Student Nomination Story

Traci Barnes is the most incredible teacher I have ever met. She works at an alternate education program at Beaver Dam School District. She has been my son's teacher for 3 years. My son was struggling in a regular class and nothing we were able to do was helping him. When the school proposed this program, I was hesitant. But Ms. Barnes was so welcoming and so great with the kids. She talks to them and teaches them by what they each individually need. In the last 3 years, my son went from having angry fits at school, to now loving going to school and loves her. He needed the smaller classroom and the one on one attention that she gives. She makes each of those children feel special and Conner has never been so happy. I can't thank her enough for everything she has done for him and our family. My son is such a sweet boy and I owe her the world. She makes him laugh, think beyond the box and enjoy coming to her classroom. She deserves this award more than anyone else I know. She actually deserves more. I thank her for everything and she will always be a part of our lives.
