We transferred our child from a private school to our public school system beginning her 2nd grade year. This decision was difficult and we worried a great deal about whether we were making the right choice. We quickly realized that we were extremely fortunate to land in Sarah Galvan's 2nd grade classroom. This teacher has made a monumental difference in our child's life in a very short time, helping her improve her reading and other skills. The difference is apparent in our child's newfound happiness coming home from school each day. The depth of Mrs. Galvan's care and tireless advocacy for the diverse children in her classroom is apparent in every interaction we've had with her. Mrs. Galvan is creative, patient, clear and kind. She seeks out individualized ways to motivate children in her classroom while making learning fun. She is the very definition of what a great teacher should be. She is the sort of teacher whose guidance will make a lasting lifelong impact. In parent-teacher conferences, she takes time to enthusiastically celebrate our child's milestones and accomplishments while gently, firmly and clearly suggesting ways to help her improve.
