Meet our March Honoree

High school Agriscience teacher and FFA advisor, Kera Reterstoff, lays the foundation for her students’ futures through real-world connectedness, collaboration, and professional development opportunities.

Our Mission

Honored is a national nonprofit organization dedicated to honoring and elevating great teachers. Our teacher recognition program helps to engage, inspire, and retain educators across the country.

Honored’s innovative platform empowers students and families to share stories about the teachers who have changed their lives. These public tributes provide the individualized and specific recognition that research shows keeps teachers in the classroom.

Our Honorees

Our Honorees teach in public, public charter, and private schools across the country; they teach students from Pre-K to 12th grade; they teach subjects from math to music to PE. So what do they all have in common? They are changing the lives of their students.

Teacher recognition is a powerful way to keep exceptional educators engaged and fulfilled and prevent attrition—yet too often, their incredible contributions go unacknowledged. Inspiring Teachers: The Honored Podcast shines a spotlight on the extraordinary impact teachers make across the country.

What makes us different?

HONORING INCLUSION

We celebrate all kinds of deserving teachers in all kinds of different schools across the country, without bias or partisanship.

ONE-TO-ONE

Informed by research, we focus on the relationship between a single teacher and student that is instrumental in student success.

STUDENT VOICES

We value students’ experiences because students themselves can provide the truest testimonials to a teacher’s full impact on their lives.
