Student Nomination Story

My name is Renne Smith and I am a junior at C.E. King High School. Some things about me are that I love hanging out with my friends, shopping, and watching movies. In addition, other things that I like are helping my teachers whenever they need my assistance. I have a passion to help people no matter what it is. My attitude towards school, before I met Mrs. Spriggs, was focused but not excited about learning. My biggest challenges and concerns before I met her were that I was worried that I wasn’t going to be able to understand the work. However, when I met her she made it easy to understand the work if I just take my time on it and don’t rush through it. Mrs. Spriggs is special to me because she always knew how to make me laugh and always knew how to make me feel better whenever I was not myself. The way she helped me support my goals are by always motivating me to get things accomplished and making sure that I was always focused. Some things that she has either said or done that have really stuck with me for the past couple of years are that she has always said that if I ever need help or just someone to talk to, she is there. That really stuck with me because sometimes when no one is there for me all I have to remember is that she is there whenever I need her. I am grateful for Mrs. Spriggs because I have learned so much from her and it has really stuck with me. It’s truly made me a better person. The way I feel about school now, is a lot different from whenever I first met her. My dreams for my future have not changed at all as I still plan to be very successful in my near future.
