Student Nomination Story

Mr.Isse is a 6th grade esl at Holt Crossing Intermediate School. When I was in the 6th grade He became the best teacher I've ever had. In 6th grade he would help me with anything I didn't understand even if he didn't get it either. The way he teached classes was also amazing and made me pay attention even though he wasn't really my teacher. He would make every assignment fun for example one time the class had to make a poster of where there from and some foods, languages, the flag, and gave them all the materials to do it and had rewards and treats for good and right answers and always tried to be connected with the students, if they needed a break the class would get a break and if you dont understand something and need something repeated he wont get mad and instead re explain it in more detail for you and will gladly repeat what he says. Always making jokes and keeping the classroom alive and staying connected with his students and even some who wasn't his student. He would make time for me to check on me because I wasn't a good student I was always back talking teacher, causing drama, instigating, wouldn't do work just a regular "bad student" my friends also acted like this. Mr.Isse always had snacks always had board games always had something for us and he was willing to give us rewards for good behavior, snacks when needed, come to his classroom for breaks, and you could talk to him about whatever you need too with no worry in a world he is a great listener and will always have your back and help you get threw tough situations. My birthday was coming up and I was so excited for it and I told him about it every day and I also told him how I never had a birthday party with friends my last birthday party was in the 3rd grade and i invited friends but no one showed up but 1 person and family. He surprised me and my friend with a birthday party her birthday was also coming up and he made it the best day of my life he made a basket with a bunch of candy and a 25 dollar chick-fil-a gift card and a bunch of snacks and cake and I got to invite my friends in the school to his room for it I was so stoked and grateful for this because I will never forget that. The school year finishes and me and friends each write him a card of why we was so glad to have him as a teacher and how he changed us, when we gave them to him he said he will read it later so he did and I went to the bathroom and on my way there I peaked into his room to ask if he read them yet and he was in there crying reading them and I went to ask if he was ok and that showed me how much he cared for us and how letters moved him I felt so glad to show appreciation to him after all he has done for me. I moved to the 7th grade and me and friends had to move to a different school for middle school and I thought we would never talk again. I joined the cheer leading team and I wanted to invite him to one of the games I cheered at and of course he went and met my family and created a great bond with them and even came to more games and also my track meets. Later that year we lost communication and I became "bad" again and started getting suspended and getting into fights and almost expelled I was lucky enough to get put on probation for the school, and I felt like my world was destroyed after a situation I thought I could never overcome but once track started I started inviting him to my meets and started to explain what was happening with me and how I was sorry for acting like this and I felt guilty for letting him down. He comforted me with kindness and words, I thought he would be mad but he told me his story on how he grew up which was so messed up and I felt so bad but that is also his story to tell not mine and he promised me if I got my act together and stopped and tried to be better get better grades be a better student he would surprise me. Over the summer of 2023 my mom and him planned a meet up at mc donalds to catch up so we could also see each other and for my mom and him to talk more and it was amazing and he was hearing me out on stuff I wanted to tell him how school was how I did get better grades and how I behaved better and when 8th grade started I thought he forgot his promised became disappointed but one day during class I got called down to the office and he came and dropped off me and MY BROTHER a mexico jersey of the national soccer team of mexico with our names on it because we love soccer and the mexico national team. I was so excited because that was my first ever Mexico jersey. He couldn't stay because he also teaches at the school across from mine and I have became a better student and started to take school more seriously for him he changed me so much and he deserves the world. Im an 8th grade student know and me and him still talk over email and I told him how I got accepted into CCP(collage credit plus) for Columbus state community collage and he is rewarding me with a jersey of club america and told me how proud he was of me and he is so happy for me. Me and many other students still appreciate him for everything and he really did change our lifes instead of being the rude, mean teacher. Mr.Isse deserves the world because of his kindness and how much he changes people especially me and I will never again turn into the kid who causes trouble and gets bad grades because of him he changed the way I think and my perspective of life and I hope I can win this and nominate him because I wanna repay him for years of kindness and never leaving me and making sure to stay kind and change peoples life I don't know what else to do to repay him and Thank you so much for this opportunity. (I wanna include multiple images but im not sure how hopefully the one i sent is enough.)
