Student Nomination Story

I'm the parent of two students in the Hayward Unified School District. I have a 7th grade son Kyrel at King and my kindergarten daughter, Tamako at Southgate. My 7th grader son Kyrel also had Mrs. Dechaine for kindergarten and she has placed a very positive impact on their lives. I've sat in her class multiple times and she is very attentive and has a way of making every child feel confident and special. Mrs. Marla DeChaine is one of those people you meet and you feel like there doing what their destined to do be a teacher but not an ordinary teacher one who goes above and beyond. She shows the children how to respect themselves as well as others, and she does everything in the most loving way she's like their second mom. I wish I wrote 8 years ago when my son had her volunteering in her class was an honor. She speaks with love, lifting up the kids and not putting them down in a way that is in the balance of not babying them. She is amazing teacher and I've seen a lot of different teachers. She loves to teach and it shows by the love she gives the children to help them grow. She's earned the honor of being recognized for her good work. Parents know by word of mouth and she is often requested by parents to be their students teacher. I nominate Mrs. Marla DeChaine a million times over is an amazing teacher we all need more like her.
