Student Nomination Story

Ms. Lowther is the most amazing teacher that I have ever had. Something that I think is so very special about her is that she does not allow her students to apologize for their work or their art. Each and every one of her students has learned to accept one another as individuals, students, and artists. We do not judge one another for anything within Ms. Lowther’s room. This is because of her amazing dedication to making sure that we are prepared for the “real world”. On the first day of my freshman year, Ms. Lowther read my class a book entitled “There Are Those”. This book has repeated continuously within my head for years. To be frank, Ms. Lowther taught myself & many others what it means to be special. We were told that we are nothing less than “worth it”, but there is always room to grow. I, personally, learn new things from Ms. Lowther every day. She is the most caring, hard-working, and passionate teacher and woman that I have ever met. Ms. Lowther runs an audition-based Fine Arts program within our school. This program, in and of itself, has changed my life. However, what makes it even more special is the faculty behind it. Ms. Lowther taught me that my well-being is more important than anything else that I do. She has taught me that I may not always get things right on the first try. On top of that, I have learned that there is not always a “right” or “wrong” answer. Ms. Lowther deserves all of the recognition in the entire world, as I am sure that she has earned it.
