Student Nomination Stories

Nominated by: Kian Smith

Mrs. Doyle is an exceptional Teacher. My Grandson Kian was always labeled the bad kid. He struggled with ADHD and it took years to to get his medication correct. Kian struggled with everything there was to do with school. With so many kids in the classroom it was hard for other Teachers to given Kian the time he needed. In talking with most of Kian previous Teachers while they had him he disrupted the class and made it hard for others to learn.Kian was going to be held back because he was struggling to learn. In 3rd grade that all changed we Kian was given to Ms Moreland who is now Mrs Doyle. Mrs Doyle took time to find out ways that Kian could learn. She held toutering after school 2 days a week till 5 pm to work with the kids who were behind. She made them believe they could do anything. She invested in them talked to them. She attended Kians Scoccer game on a Saturday to tell him she was proud of him. Mrs Doyle didn't just do this for Kian she did this for all her kids. Kian became an exceptional student, he is learning how to control his ADHD and is now well past his grade level in Math and reading. He scored high on his test and finally looked forward to going to school. Kian loves Mrs Doyle and is excited to tell us about his day, even days he dosent listen well because Mrs Doyle explains to him what he did and the expectations she has for him. She let's him know after lunch or tomorrow is a new day. Every day we start over and she believes in him. I know Mrs Doyle does this for all her students she gives the the tools they need to succeed. She gives of her free time to let them know that she does care for them. I do not know where my Grandson would be without her because as a family we feel all the other Teacher had given up on him.
