Student Nomination Stories
Nominated by: Kodi Hackenberg
Mrs. Reterstoff is an amazing teacher because she genuinely cares about giving all of her students opportunities whether it is related to careers, FFA, student council, etc. Mrs. Reterstoff has allowed me to experience amazing things like going to the FFA national convention and getting to go to a rodeo and a concert! She also helped me set up a job shadow to help me determine if that career would be something that I would be interested in the future. She always goes above and beyond for her students. Mrs. Reterstoff makes me excited to go to class because we are constantly learning something new everyday in her college and career readiness class! We might be learning about construction, vet science, food science, health science, and so much more. I am constantly having fun in her class. One of my favorite memories was when we got to learn to make ice cream and cupcakes for the food science unit that we were learning about. I know that Mrs. Reterstoff cares about me because she is always honest with me, which is something I truly appreciate as a student that is trying to navigate her way through high school. She always expresses her honest thoughts when it comes to my life, and I know that it comes from a good place as she wants me to experience high school to its fullest! She is also there for me when I am going through difficult times, and specifically she has sent me sweet texts that pick me up exponentially, as it is a reminder to me that there are still people out there who are thinking about me and care for me. Additionally, she makes me a more confident student through FFA, which is a leadership organization through agriculture. I have learned public speaking abilities, leadership abilities, and so much more from Mrs. R. Before I learned these abilities, I could barely give a presentation without getting very nervous. I was also a very shy and quiet person before I found my place in FFA. Mrs. Reterstoff is an amazing teacher, and she is so incredibly worthy of this prize! I would not be who I am today, or have gotten to experience the things that I have gotten to experience so far without her. The following attached image is my two beautiful FFA advisors standing with me and my awards that I earned throughout my freshman year in FFA. Mrs. Reterstoff is in the pink dress on the right!
