Katie Harris

This teacher alway go beyond to help me. She wants us all to succeed and to do well. She texts and calls my mom after hours to help me with work for school or meltdowns. She tries to help figure out ways to help me and my mom. She tries to give me work that I can do in order to write and learn like the others in my class. She tries to get me to be social and to be included with other kids. She also helps me keep up good grades in order to be on the honor roll. She explains stuff so well so I am able to understand it. When I am in trouble, she makes sure I don't cry and will give me emotional support. She always makes me feel special. She always compliments me by "high fiving" me and saying "way to go!" She tells me I can do anything and tells me never to compare myself to others. She is a great role model and teaches a bunch of kids with different abilities, so her job is not always easy. However, she always brings a smile, a hug, and words of encouragement. My mom and I think she deserves some recognition because she goes so far beyond what her job has her do. My mom says teachers like her don't get recognized enough. She is the sweetest, most kind, and caring teacher to ever have worked!
