Student Nomination Story

She is honestly the sweetest person that has ever taught me and constantly changes her plans and teaching styles to what best fits each class( she has multiple different ones including; world history, AP word history, and others) she has made her entire room to make us more comfortable and constantly keeps us engaged and teaches in ways that work. I instantly feel better as I walk into her classroom. She has rules in place that make the class room more inviting and fun. We have a food always allowed rule ( in which she often feeds us little snacks). We have discussions in which you MUST hit a gavel like a judge to talk. And if you ever walked in there and needed help with anything she would instantly try and help you as best as possible. It’s such a good atmosphere that everyday we have other people ( including seniors in a fresh man class) just walk in there to talk to her. She isn’t just a nice person she actually cares about what she teaches and you can see it. From all the assignments that she creates by hand to the website that she made to keep us on track. Her room is decorated with unicorns, gnomes, and maps, and stickers are always available for whatever you need. She will take any suggestions, in fact I suggested a box to repair and or fix our history notebooks ( which is the holy grail of the class) and today she walked in and had one ready. Being a history teacher she knows a lot about everything but if you dare ask her a question she doesn’t know the answer to she will say and has said I don’t know, but be prepared next class for she has researched and found out the answer to your question. I have ADHD and this angel of a person will sit there with me and listen to my rants about how bananas are radioactive and how the Disney movie Anastasia is both the best and worst Disney movie with genuine interest. I honestly hope I can have her for as many classes as possible.
