Jedmy Centeno
North Shore Senior High School, Houston, Texas
Student Nomination Story
What makes Mrs. Centeno amazing is that she somehow manages to have the most AP classes in Galena Park ISD and still give personalized, effective, and goofy assistance, in and out of class. Her overall goofy personality with a hint of required sternness, allows for me to look forward to creating art and studying art history. Though many people won’t notice, her staying after class numerous days for tutorials (even when we’re out of school), giving effective, efficient, and personal(ized) assistance when creating pieces and portfolios, and giving us many different forms of information to help us study, is how I know share actually cares about us. She makes her students more confident by instilling the fact that she’s preparing us for our futures. Need it be college, the work-force, or even the military, she tells us that her structured class will benefit us in the long-run, even if it sucks in the moment. She makes us all feel supported by interacting with the class, usually very energetically, and adjusting to each individual in her class room. She’s made it obvious that her class is a safe-place, full of relatability, respect, and accountability. Thank you, Mrs. Centeno

I’m very thankful for Ms centeno because I just love how much she loves all of her students. When I graduate I will forever remember how amazing she is as a person very caring and loving, I will specially remembered when my sister had passed away she was the only teacher I had told and she came forward to me with a very Special gift to remember my sister . I have It next to a picture of my sister that I get to see everyday when I wake up. I hope every wish and blessing comes to her. Forever thankful to have her as a Teacher. - Marcelo
