Student Nomination Story

He is the reason why me and so many of my peers love music. whether it be two youth orchestras in the surrounding areas, or an afterschool full orchestra group. Or even the pit for the highschool musical production. The amount of time and dedication he puts into his craft and his students is more than any other teacher and I would be willing to bet that. He runs the southwest regional orchestra still after multiple years of that not being his job anymore. He helps with the all state orchestra and has even hosted the OMEA competition. Above that it's the relationships with the students that set him apart. He not only instills in us a love of music, but he teaches us discipline and focus in our practice that can be more broadly applied to life. I know that many of the students in the class look up to him as somewhat of a father figure as well. He also teaches middle school orchestra as well as highschool.
