Student Nomination Story
My teacher has changed my life in these ways. My teacher has not only helped me academically but personally as well. I’ve learned to appreciate why people go to school and get degrees to become teachers. My teacher always asked us if we needed help because he knew some of us would not ask on our own. He always made sure we understood everything before he would move onto the next topic. He encouraged us to participate. I never once felt dumb for asking a question because with Mr. Wheeler there was no such thing as a dumb question. He made learning really fun because he helped us relate to whatever he was teaching us. He had a small game called where is Wheeler, where we had to find his face Photoshop in a photograph of whatever he was teaching us for example the holocaust and the Cold War. Mr. Wheeler has help me personally as well because during that time I started school and his class for the second quarter of the school year I was in depression. Mr. Wheeler’s class was where I look forward to going every single day. He always let us be ourselves and remain academically productive. He genuinely cares about his students. I now understand that there is such thing as teachers who really care for the students and want them to succeed I understand that even though some teachers are more strict and close minded there will always be those teachers that will help you grow as a person and as a student that will change the way you see school.
