Student Nomination Story
For my teacher appreciation letter, I am going to write to Mrs.Blackman. She is so full of life, she is funny, and she’s always so cheerful. First I'm going to talk a little about myself, I’ve always looked at school as boring. School wasn’t really what I looked forward to growing up. While I was in 9th grade, Mrs.Blackman helped me look forward to going to school, she always brightened the classroom and made everyone laugh, she even made learning not boring sometimes. Mrs.Blackman has an energy that is unmatched by others, she is always full of energy and she always has a good vibe. Mrs.Blackman is the reason why I wanted to go to school. From the start of class to the end of class Mrs.Blackman had everyone's attention whether it was for classwork or if she was being silly. Mrs.Blackman always had a positive vibe and she keeps positive energy around her, maybe that's why she is a cool teacher. I appreciate Mrs.Blackman for helping me and encouraging me to finish school. I appreciate her for helping me look forward to school and always making my day better. Now since school is virtual, it isn’t the same. I still look forward to school though and even now, every once in a while I still see Mrs.Blackman and she has the same impact on my day.

School has always been something that most kids my age have been bored by and struggled with and that fine. Personally though i've always looked at school as just another time pass and never have been too fond of it either. The only real challenge i've ever had with school on a normal school year was my classmates, I don’t really like working with them and I would rather work alone unless of course they are my friends. Not because I am shy or anything like that but just prefer not to work with others. But one day I met this one teacher in high school. At first I didn’t know what to expect considering the fact that this was my first year in high school so i was more or less just trying to get into the swing of things and understand how things function. But my teacher was very supportive and helped me to get my work done by simply telling me things and motivating me to get my work done. At first it was kind of annoying because she liked to yell at me all the time. But I later found it humorous and supportive. I am grateful to my teacher for always helping me learn in class and answering any questions i might have about any subject. I never once felt excluded or like i didn’t understand something. My mindset for school is honestly still the same and i still feel like its a chore but i guess i've come to enjoy this chore a little more now. We’ll see what the future hold for me and I’ll just keep walking this path I am currently one.

My name is Shina Robertson, and I am 16 years old in the tenth grade. I am currently interested in a lot of things right now like reading manga, watching anime, walking, and hanging out with my boyfriend. My attitude in school before I met this teacher was kinda bland and I wasn’t all that focus in school or my school work. My biggest challenges and concerns were trying to get higher grades and scores on my test and actually understanding the work a teacher gave me. This teacher is special to me because she actually helped us learn a fun way and she interacted with us the way any other teacher wouldn’t. She always had our backs and related to us when we really needed help. My favorite teacher helps us support our goals by getting us extra help on things and talking to us about how we can help achieve our goals in an easy or hard way. There were actually some things that my favorite teacher did that stuck out to me. Like, she would tell inside jokes that only me and her would know about and she would just joke around while we were learning to help us understand the tek. I am grateful for my teacher because she actually helped me get through a very difficult subject and she really helped me understand what I needed to know. I feel like school now helped me get through work much easier because now we have fun while doing her work. That makes it much easier to get through a ton of work. My dreams in my future have changed drastically because of my school work. Thanks to my favorite teacher she had changed my school life around a whole lot.

Before meeting Mrs. Blackman my attitude towards school was very negative. When I would wake up, I never wanted to go to school. My middle school science teacher was great but made me feel as though all the work I would do was never good enough. I thought I just did not like science because all the assignments were boring or uninteresting. However, Mrs. Blackman’s class not only changed my attitude towards science but school overall. Mrs. Blackman made sure her class was hands-on and everyone understood before moving on. Her class was not about meeting deadlines but at least making sure you fully understand the topic. She was able to tell if you were not feeling too great and would always make it known that we could talk to her. I loved that we could tell her what was bothering us and she would give us her best advice. The environment in her classroom was very positive and encouraging. She always told me to step out of my comfort zone because I would never learn or be able to adapt to new environments. I am very grateful I was able to meet Mrs.Blackman because her class made me want to pursue a career in science. She always pushed me to ask questions and get good grades so I could be the best I could possibly be. My attitude towards school changed so much when I was taking her class and I decided to keep it positive even after I was not in her class anymore. If you go into a class already in an attitude and not wanting to try then you will never have a good time.

To start off I never really had an interest in school. However i did favor science a lot more subject wise. During middle school, I was still most interested in English and the sciences, but not to the point that I decided to pursue them; however, I only did what was required of me to get good grades. I was an exceptional student in all three years of school in science, and I found the subject to be easy to the point that I stopped being interested and finding joy in it. I was introduced to a new way of studying science the moment I walked into that biology class, and I grew to enjoy solving every dilemma. Despite the fact that I had no trouble solving the problems over the years, my attitude towards them was not the best. She would give us a lot of freedoms in class as long as we understood what was going on, and by doing so, I was able to have fun in class while also still learning more about science and biology. As an instructor, she would make sure that each student understood by speaking with them individually or encouraging them to collaborate in groups or partners. Each student felt free to share any concerns they had about biology, well at least I did. I am very fortunate to have had an outstanding teacher who pays attention to his students and finds ways to make learning as simple as possible. She promoted good times in class , and she changed my views about how entertaining and fascinating science can be. Now I feel like I'm able to become more knowledgeable in topics that I enjoy, and I've developed an interest in science once again. It was all thanks to ms Blackmans good teaching energy.
