Student Nomination Stories
Nominated by: Jaime Estrada
Mrs. Angela Rosales was my 9th grade Biology teacher and 10th grade AP Biology teacher. She is someone whom I consider more of a friend than a teacher, and even though she moved to another district, she has stayed in contact with me via message. She has provided me with all the support that almost nobody gives me. She taught me that I just need to be myself and not let others bring me down. Also, she told me that I should stop worrying so much about things that are way ahead of the present. She always provided me with the right advice and an ear to listen to everything that was going on in my life. Even though I might have been a little annoying, she has always been there for me. She showed up even for my band and drum line performances. She constantly provided a fun outlet to her students and just taught in a more mature/ serious yet fun and enjoyable way. She shared her exploding happy attitude with whoever earned it from working hard in her class. Mrs. Rosales is just a person who is amazing, kind, understanding, and a great friend for anyone to have even as an adult. She made me feel comfortable with having a wacky and over the top personality!

Before I met my teacher, I was just a straight A student who only thought about my academics and took orchestra as a fun extracurricular class. I wouldn’t worry much other than passing my classes and having a high GPA. During middle school, even if I got a somewhat bad grade, like a D, I would begin to rethink myself and wonder if I was truly intelligent as people would call me.

Ms. Rosales has changed my life by inspiring me to go into the medical field. As a freshman in high school, it can be very hard to decide what you want to be in the future. But now that I'm about to finish this year, she has inspired me to keep pushing and finish out high school strong. I really thank her for guiding me to my future career.
