Student Nomination Story
Mrs. Moore has instilled in my child a love for learning and a great love for math. She has made learning fun by creating lessons such as a store with a real cash register when learning about spending, cost, counting coins, etc. She asked the store Lowes to donate aprons for the students to store their coins. She had the students dress up as doctors when they were learning how to dissect things. She took the students for ice cream dates during COVID to celebrate their successes for online learning. She delivered Easter Eggs with problems in them for the parents to hide to make learning fun during unprecedented times. She stopped by to "see" her students, so that they did not miss out on that connection when school suddenly stopped due to Covid-19. Mrs. Moore hosted Zoom meetings for the students to visit with her and each other. They would be on Zoom for hours at a time. Mrs. Moore loves on my daughter anywhere she sees her, and my daughter is so excited to see her. She even brought her a birthday gift of things they had discussed during the school year before it was cut short. Most teachers are ready to get new students when a new year begins, but Mrs. Moore was thrilled to have my daughter for a second year (she even requested her.) Mrs. Moore has made my daughter want to become a teacher, so she can show students the same love and care that she has shown to her. We are so fortunate to have the blessing of Mrs. Moore for two years!
