Alyssa Hansen
Old Quarry Middle School, Lemont, Illinois
Student Nomination Story
I had just moved to Lemont and I was really worried about whether I was going to get nice teachers and such. Once I walked into Old Quarry it seemed like a good school until I met Mrs. Hansen. Once I met her I knew it was going to be a great year, and what do you know? It happened. I was in her advisory and 7th period math class (my favorite class that year) and I was so happy to be with her for almost half the day. I thought she was just a really nice teacher at the beginning of the year until I got to the last few months of school. I soon learned that she was more than a teacher. She was a life-changer, an innovator, and so much more that I can't even begin to describe. I specifically remember on the last day of school, I was really disappointed to leave her class, but happy that she would get to teach a whole new round of kids. Now I'm in 8th grade, and I'm sad that I'm going into highschool because I won't be able to see her.
