Congratulations to
National Teaching Award Nominee
Sherrell Wilson
Michael R. Null Middle School, Houston, Texas
Student Nomination Story
Ms. Wilson was always a fun teacher. I also loved the subject she taught. I think it was how supportive she was in our learning, and how I was able to enjoy that class. I had her throughout middle school (6th grade was virtual), but she most impacted me in 7th and 8th grade. I really liked going to her class and doing the projects. She's part of the reason I got so into coding and game development, because there were opportunities in her class where I could delve into learning about those things without getting off task. Going into highschool, I immediately chose to take a programming/computer science course and it's my favorite class. Even though I no longer have Ms. Wilson as my teacher, I still connect things that I'm currently learning in my computer science class with things that I learned in her class.
