Kimber Morales

Mrs. Morales is an incredible teacher and should be acknowledged for her dedication and compassion for her students. My daughter started out the year with a different teacher and struggled everyday to keep her confidence and understand the lessons. She cried almost every night because she didn't feel like she was smart enough and started to talk negatively about herself. I was very concerned and reached out the school for advice. I was relieved when I found out that the teacher was reassigned to a different school and that a new teacher was hired to take over her class. On Mrs. Morales' first day she sent out an email to parents that was very informative and she reassured us that she would make the changes needed to provide the best care and instruction for our children. My daughter came home later that week raving about how much she loves her new math teacher. She was talking a million miles a minute about every little thing she loves about her. Every day for over a month she would come home and want to immediately show me what she learned in math that day. She was so proud of herself for knowing how to solve the difficult equations. Mrs. Morales not only improved my daughters confidence but my own as well. I was struggling to get information and felt detached from my daughters education. It is extremely frustrating as a parent knowing that your child is suffering and not being able to do anything to help. After Mrs. Morales stepped in I immediately started getting weekly updates on her class with detailed information on what will be assigned and graded that week. This has helped me feel confident that I can assist my daughter when needed. As a parent I couldn't be more thankful. My daughter has gained her confidence back and loves school again. I want to recognize Mountain View Middle School as well, for taking into consideration the concerns of parents and taking action when needed.
