Student Nomination Story
When I started Middle School, I had the option to learn to play an instrument. Of course, since my older sister did, I wanted to too. The first day was daunting. Most of us had never touched our instrument before, much less made a noise that sounded anything like music. He promised that we would be able to play a full page of music by December. We were skeptical, but sure enough! By our winter concert, we could! After that, anytime something got hard, he would remind us of all the others pieces we thought were hard, and could now play with ease. He has also made it possible for me to do what I never thought I could. As I said before, he was and still is really encouraging, even when you're sure you can't do something. I guess it's hard to explain what Mr. Ashworth does for us. I could just say he teaches us music, but he's really a lot more than that, especially to me.
