Student Nomination Story
This year marks my second year of being home schooled, and let me tell you, meeting Mrs. Candice has been a game-changer for my family and me. She has truly made our lives less stressful. When we first started, we didn't even know where to begin, but Mrs. Candice was there from the very beginning, helping me gain confidence in taking tests and guiding me through any struggles I had with my work. What sets Mrs. Candice apart is her genuine dedication to her students. It's not about the money for her; she genuinely cares about each and every one of us. She goes above and beyond to ensure our success in our schoolwork. Unlike my previous experience in public school, where all I did was stress about tests and assignments, Mrs. Candice loves and cares for everyone. And it's not just in her job as a teacher; she's also a dedicated homeschooling mom to her own kids. Mrs. Candice is an incredible teacher. I've learned so much more under her guidance than I ever did in public school. I can now take a test without being scared, because I have the confidence that I've tried my best. And even if I don't get the best grade, I know Mrs. Candice will help me understand what I missed and provide encouraging words instead of making me feel down on myself like some public school teachers did. What makes Mrs. Candice truly awesome is her genuine care for her students. When you're in her class, you become part of her family, and she makes sure you know it. I used to dread going to school because of the overwhelming workload and the fear of not understanding certain topics. But with Mrs. Candice, learning becomes fun. She ensures that we understand the material and encourages us not to stress. She's just an all-around fun person to be around. Mrs. Candice doesn't just tell you she cares; she shows it through her actions. During my first state testing as a home schooled student, I was incredibly nervous and had a breakdown. But Mrs. Candice was there for me, sitting down and talking to me or sending me encouraging texts. She reminded me to leave all the stress behind because no matter what, my intelligence cannot be measured by a test. In fact, she believes that the word "dumb" is a bad word because everyone is smart in their own unique way. No matter what you're doing in life, she's always there for you. She's like your biggest cheerleader, supporting you in everything you do. Not only is she there for you, but she's also there for others, just like I mentioned before. Once you become her student, you become a part of her family too. She truly deserves all the good things that come her way, considering the challenges she faces. She's a tough, strong woman, an amazing mom, and an incredible teacher. Mrs. Candice teaches K-12 through Epic Charter Schools, and home schools her own kids as well. She has a 24 hour job, she is incredible. I am truly grateful to have Mrs. Candice as my teacher. Her care and dedication are unmatched.
