Student Nomination Story

At the start of my junior year I joined my first dual enrollment course and honestly, I had no clue what I was doing. I was ready for a new year but as the days went on in this class i found myself really struggling to keep up with work. I was diagnosed with Narcolepsy and cataplexy and this has always affected my school life but it was especially hard in my first dual enrollment class. Despite it being hard I really did keep trying all thanks to Mrs.Gomez. She always emphasized on treating us as young adults and she had her expectations but when she noticed my struggle she immediately took action. She did her very best to work with me and gave me little lessons on what i should do. She was very patient and caring. It is thanks to her that I now fully understand how to work my way through high-school and college. It may not seem like much to others , but to me it meant a lot.
