Student Nomination Story

On this Teacher Appreciation Week, I wanted to give a special shout out to Ms. Seana O’Connell, who is undoubtedly the greatest Math I’ve ever had in my entire life. Growing up, I was never the strongest student, especially in Math, and I really struggled in particular areas such as Geometry. I never thought that I would understand Math, until I had Ms. O’Connell for Algebra 2. Granted I’m better at Algebra than Geometry, but there was something about the way Ms. O’Connell taught it. I felt like she taught it in such a way so that I would understand it and whatever she did, it worked. I never felt alone in that class and when I started seeing A’s and B’s, instead of D’s and F’s, I couldn’t help but feel so proud of myself. I credit a lot of my success today to Ms. O’Connell. She’s one of the reasons why I’m a teacher today. I’m so honored to honor Ms. Seana O’Connell as she changed my life and the way I looked at Math for the better.

Ms. Seana O’Connell is by far the best Math teacher ever. As someone who’s never been the strongest student academically, especially in Math, having Ms. O’Connell was nothing short of a blessing. She explained everything in such a way so that I would understand it. I’m sure she tailored her lessons to meet the needs of all of her students, but it felt like I was the only one in the class. She made sure all of us were on the same page. I never felt alone or lost in that class. I’m honored to nominate Ms. Seana O’Connell because she deserves it. She’s amazing.
