Paul Ericksen

Student Nomination Story
He was the best teacher that I have ever had. He made history fun and I learned so much in his class. He should win the best teacher award because he cares about his students and puts a lot of time into his teaching.

He was the only teacher I ever had that taught me so so much. I had him when I was in 7th and 8th grade and now I am a freshman in high school. I still remember every single thing he taught us. He comes up with fun things to do around the classroom and makes everyone involved. He is not only really good at being your friend and helping you whenever you need it but also differentiating being a teacher. You can tell he loves teaching.

Mr. Ericksen always finds fun ways to teach and gives us a parody to a popular song to help memorize different topics. He would come up with different games to play on Fridays in order to go over and help us memorize what we went over that week. I was lucky and have had him 2 years in a row for advanced history, and I wouldn’t have it any other way. Ericksen impacted the lives of his students without realizing it. Every day when we walked into his classroom, he would always smile and say hello. If a student seemed sad or upset he would always ask what was wrong or talk to them about it. He always has a good attitude. Even when he wasn’t having a good day or week he would still show a positive attitude and make sure that all of his students were happy too.

Mr. E made me learn things about history that I never thought I would enjoy. I hated history until I had him. He made me want to be a history teacher and teach like he does. He was always in a good mood and was always so polite and involved with his classes. I had him for two years during my 7th and 8th grade years, and he changed the way I saw history. My 6th grade year I went from D's and C's to straight A's my 7th grade year. I was then put into advanced my 8th grade and continued to earn an A in his class. He was always there for anyone who needed it, and I mean always. My 7th and 8th grade years were rough for my family due to a multitude of reasons. However, Mr. E he always made my days better even when he was not informed about my personal life. If I was to choose a teacher who deserved this award , it would be him. He's so great and everyone in my grade loves him!
