Student Nomination Stories

Nominated by: Eli Sibinovski

To whom it may concern, It is with overwhelming gratitude and admiration that I nominate Mrs. Megan Jarvi, a kindergarten teacher at St. Anne Cathloic Grade School. Mrs. Jarvi is not only an extraordinary educator, but a true example of love in action. Her impact on our family—and especially on our son Eli—has been nothing short of life-changing. From the very first conversation I had with Mrs. Jarvi about Eli, who faces developmental language delay, sensory processing disorder, and cognitive delays, she met me with nothing but confidence, compassion, and grace. While many might hesitate to welcome a student with special needs into a traditional classroom setting, Mrs. Jarvi never wavered. With a reassuring smile she simply said, “Just bring him. I’ll take care of him.” That one sentence carried the weight of courage, faith, and unwavering commitment to every child’s dignity and worth. Mrs. Jarvi backed it up every single day with patience, creativity, and tireless effort to ensure Eli felt safe, supported, and celebrated. From helping him navigate tough mornings, to advocating for him during IEP meetings, to gently encouraging him to participate in field trips, the Christmas concert and school pep assemblies, she has been by his side, believing in him every step of the way. Her classroom is a sanctuary not just of learning, but of belonging. She celebrates every success—big and small—and builds a community where all students are lifted up, regardless of their challenges. The entire St. Anne team is remarkable, but Mrs. Jarvi’s heart for teaching shines uniquely bright. And yet, her dedication extends far beyond the classroom. As a mother of three, a member of the Madonna Guild, a festival chairperson, and a key member of the school’s accreditation team, she still makes the time to pour into every child she teaches. Even while facing the unimaginable loss of her own father, she showed up—present, joyful, and compassionate. Mrs. Jarvi is one of those rare and beautiful people who live out their calling fully. She saw our Eli not as extra work, but as extra love. That is a gift I will carry with me for the rest of my life. For all of these reasons and so many more, I cannot think of anyone more deserving of this honor than Mrs. Megan Jarvi. She is, without question, a living example of what education is meant to be. With heartfelt thanks, Todor, Leilani and Eli Sibinovski
