Student Nomination Story
I am the grandmother of Kourtlyn. I keep her after school and during the summer. I was not prepared for shelter in place because of the Coronavirus. I overnight became my granddaughter's teacher. I had met Ms. Lindsay twice but didn’t really know her. But, since all of this, I have been able to listen to her and see how she teaches her students. She devotes one on one time with each one and gives them a chance to tell what’s going on in their “sheltered” life. Even down to a Chick fil a drink, she acknowledges and makes the students feel important. She is soft-spoken, gentle, smiling, always positive, funny, devoted, caring, etc. She has been awesome with me. Helping me to figure out to get on certain programs because of course, they couldn’t make it easy for us old-timers that aren’t computer savvy!!! She always has kind words to say to me. She even supports me to my granddaughter. I think she is an awesome teacher and would like to see her get recognized for it!!!
