Student Nomination Story
The start of this school year was rocky - even though my kids enjoyed remote learning at the beginning of the pandemic, we were nervous about trying to have 5 kids in school at the same time for a full day. Technical issues popped up, both on our side and the teachers' side. Kids were nervous and frustrated. Except one child in our family - Sam was laughing, socializing, jumping out of his seat to answer questions, and completely in love with his class and his teacher. The only problem he's had with online school is not falling off his chair when he gets so excited about the activities of the day! Ms. Rhodes is a digital teaching rock star. She knows how to manage a classroom from a distance in ways that amaze me. I find myself as a parent wanting to watch her class just to learn from her about how to engage with my children. Sam says, "I love Ms. Rhodes because she does Kahoot, and Kahoot is awesome." We're grateful for the extra work Ms. Rhodes does to make her lessons digital and interactive. We know it's not easy right now!
