Student Nomination Story

My first year I felt like a deer caught in the headlights. Every staff member I asked “Where do I go for this” referred me to D11 Ms. Richards class. As I arrive to her classroom feeling out of place and extremely awkward I notice I’m not the only one as the line to Ms. Richards desk is almost out the door. When my turn came, I asked where this was, and what time that was. I expected her to laugh or chuckle but instead she made me feel like I belonged. My second year I had the pleasure of being in her “ I I“ class. She just had a way of empowering all the students and making them feel as equals. A genuine love for all her students and teaching .
